Is the manufacturing division within the group, which also designs and develops new products and equipment on an ongoing basis for such industry sector whilst being a highly competitive producer of high ‘quality’ local product.

History

In 1987 the Aquanant range of equipment was purchased and the Buccaneer pump was launched (now the modified Turbo Flo Pump assembled by Quality) The business grew as more and more experienced people entered into the trade as swimming pool distributors throughout the country  thus requiring a new factory to be built in 1989 in Germiston.  In 1991 Peat’s Pumps was acquired further enhancing the product range of the business and offering to its’ distributors.

During 1997 Quality Pumps acquired the tools, dies and the moulds of the Pool equipment side of ‘Swimline SA’ which had been shut down by AECI its’ ultimate owner. This ensured that without much international competition the company became the dominant pool and spa equipment supplier in South Africa.

From 1996 to 2001 the fragmented wholesale and distribution market was being stabilized by the then Waterholdings group through it’s trading subsidiary Waterlines, who in turn were now the major customers of Quality. During 2002 Quality was acquired by the Waterholdings group which is now known as Waterlinx (Pty) Ltd (The largest distributor of pool, spa, koi and solar equipment in South Africa).

In line with structural and name changes the business now trades as a division known as Quality Pool & Spa, out of a factory in Malvern measuring 6000 m2 under roof. The business also includes the Sun Command solar range of products and focuses on manufacturing and assembling cost efficient quality products.
